Any EMF Shielding Problems on Cases that have a Window?

Hi All!

I'm thinking about buying a Case with a Window, but I was wondering if there are any EMF Shielding Problems or any other drawbacks on Cases that have a Window?

Also, when a case says the Power Supply is P4 Ready does that mean that it doesn't work for AMD?

Just because it's P4 ready does not mean it wont work for AMD. I don't know anything about the EMF shielding part though.

Is the Power Supply plug that plugs into the MotherBoard the same on a P4 ready power supply? or do You have to use a adaptor to use a P4 ready power supply with AMD?

You shouldnt have any EMF problems as long as your case is on the ground and your monitor is on your desk. Even people who do put their case next to their monitor with no side case door on dont usuallly have EMF problems. Usually EMF is the last thing you worry about with a pc case

You won't need any kind of adaptor to use the power supply with your AMD rig.

I have my windowed case sitting about 6 inches from my CRT monitor and I don't see any problems with it

So, there is no EMF problems with the windowed cases; and the P4 power supplies are the same as the old ATX power supplies except that they are P4 approved.

So what kind of windowed case did You get... And what are Your opinions of it.

The only difference is that P4 use a small 4-pin 12V auxiliary power supply, but that's changing as well. Some AMD boards have started using that 12V connector. The standard ATX connector is the same though. Some beefier supplies also have a auxiliary connection for server boards as well. As long as you have the ATX connector though, you're fine.

One or two of them do, I remember seeing it in a THG review. Can't tell you which ones off the top of my head, though. And yes, I know I'm not Chizow.
