I just got my new computer up and running, and of course, something must go horribly wrong.
I bought a brand new Dell M992 on Ebay about 2 weeks ago. I got it home, opened it up, plugged it in and just sat it on my floor until I got my desk last weekend. Everything seemed to be working fine.
Now, last night everything seemed ok too, until I got Windows installed. Everything looked great at 800x600, but once I raised it to 1280x1024 at 85 hz, things started getting weird. Windows and text had this sort of mirror thing going on kind of like a blurry mirror image about a space to the right of everything.
That lasted for about 3 restarts. I fired it up about 2 hours ago, and now all I am getting is a blurry line going down the center of the screen, with a nice smell of burning electronics.
What is going on? Is there any possible way to fix this? I have a 30 day return policy to fall back on, but its going to suck having to ship a monitor off.
Thanks for any advice.
