I'm looking for some stores that specialize in electronics/computer component parts, around Chicago, or its suburbs;

I'm looking for something better than MicroCenter or Radio Shack, and just so it's known, Active Electronics off Golf in the NW suburbs, has closed down, apparently moved all their operations north of the border, to Canada.. :(

Basically, a store thats like Active is what I'm looking for...Sure, I know I could always shop Digikey/MPJA/Jameco, I'm looking for something local.

Thanks

I buy 99% of all my electronic stuff at Tri-State Electronic, I believe it's Mount Prospect. They're located on NorthWest Hwy just East of Central.

They have bulk components or blister packs, structured cabling components, tools, security stuff, video stuff, test equipment, circuit board creation stuff, breadboard stuff, satellite stuff, antenna stuff ... very broad spectrum of products.

Their Web Site

I like 'em.

Good Luck
