Any electricians in the house?

I obtained some large flourescent lighting units that I intend to put in my shop. They are labeled as 120VAC. They have four wires coming out- one is a ground. As we all know, outlets have three contacts, one being ground. Anybody know where the extra wire may have come from, or how to get them to work? Internal ballast.
