My father is moving into my grandfathers house, and this house was built in 1790 - 1820. (They don't have the legal records, it is so old). I am going to be going over there and replacin the electrical wiring, as well as the circuit breaker, etc. I know about electricity and eveyrthing, as I'm a electrician in the Navy, but I don't know about the civilian side of things. I need to install a kill switch for the whole house, as well as a put in a new circuit breaker. Also, the electric company has said that I need to put in a meter loop.
My question is, how do I do this? Does the meter loop need to be in series or parallel with the incoming power? Also, for the incoming power coming from the electric pole, is ther going to be two or three leads? I'm searching through Google, and I am not really finding anything useful...
