Any easy way to pinpoint driver conflicts as a source of (Freeze-up) problems?

It came out of a general Utility PC here that I hadn't used a lot (it's not a new, fast, snazzy machine at all). I had not exercised the 3D aspects of the card to its full extent, but I did play some Crimson Skies, MS Flight Simulator 2002, and KOTOR-I segments with that card and saw no problems here.

Edited 3-23: #1, Mech Warrior, it freezes up when the first menu appears. #2, NWN, his PC freezes just as his game save finishes loading. # 3, System crashes, he says, in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - it Freezes up.

Those are three he says won't work. Will the built-in Dx Diag utility show any results that will point to either a driver problem, or a hardware damage? The weather here in Texas has been hugely dry, with static electricity a constant problem. I pulled the card out of that PC in the morning when the humidity was more normal, so I don't think I hurt it when packing it to send to Austin (little Sis and her kid live up there in T-sip country).

I've never had to unzip a copy of Driver Cleaner Pro to take care of any known driver residues I needed to clean out from a card change, but I don't make it a regular habit to switch parts around after I complete a build. I told him where to d/l his own copy in an eMail last evening.

I didn't have any details at first, and I really don't think we have much to go on even now., but I have added what he's told me, when he finally named the games that didn't work.

I have a few preliminary notes I've added to the OP. PC freezes up now with the Ti-4200 when games try to load.
