Any Dungeon Siege owners try this? (Ultima 6 mod)

I've never played dungeon siege. I remember it came out around the same time as Neverwinter nights, but I was completely absorbed with NWN and didn't have any interest in playing anything else. Years later I moved on, but never did try Dungeon Siege.

However, Ultima 6 was my favorite RPG by far back when it came out. I actually couldn't finish it because the disks failed on me, and I never did get a chance to get back into it. A few days ago I finally bought it on gog, and it's a lot of fun, but seeing the game recreated on a more modern (even if still outdated) engine sounds appealing to me.

So uh, anyone tried it? I'm kinda hoping it's just terrible, so I don't have to buy another game to play it myself 😛 Is there a good way to get a cheap copy of dungeon siege? I see it is only available in a large package on steam, for $40, seems excessive. I see various versions of it for sale on amazon and ebay, but I'm not really sure which one is the correct one to buy.

I found cheap Dungeon Siege CDs on Ebay usually. When I had the CD in the PC, my kids popped the disc out and closed the tray, but the disc was still sticking out and it damaged the CD. I called MS about replacing the individual disc and they quoted me $28 for that one CD !!
I went and found a Dungeon Siege 2:Broken Sword expansion pack that included the original DS CD with it also for less than $18. It doesn't look like many of the ones I find on Ebay list the original DS included with DS2, so I will try and confirm just what I bought to get both games for that low price.

Some versions of Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna come with full version of DS as well. Looks pretty cheap on ebay too.

3-cd version should definitely have it. I have the original retail box sitting on my shelf.

Since the used copies are $8+ with shipping, decided to spend a few extra to get the new + expansion for $13.
