I have been playing bass for a while, and like to fool around on my electric guitar every now and again, but lately I have been wanting to start playing drums. Any suggestions on starter books or videos?

I may be picking up a Mapex M5255T M series drum set with Zildjian ZBT Pro cymbals from my buddy in a couple months or so and am looking to start of playing rock.

Uhh.. http://hobbies.expertvillage.c...son-holding-sticks.htm (Some great videos below this one too on how to play.) Biggest thing, if you don't have the set, is to just practice the wrist movement. The largest problem for drummers/percussionists, and formerly myself, tends to be that you try to move from the elbow sometimes. It takes a long time to build wrist strength.. I'd start now.

Good! You picked the right instrument! :p If at all possible, you should look into taking lessons if you're serious. They really help you get going. I'll post back here when I dig some useful info up.

EDIT: I've been playing for about 7 years, myself. Feel free to PM me as well with any questions.
