Any downside to loading all of my Molex components on one PSU lead?

Is it better to "balance" out all of your components across all of the psu leads that a psu provides?

Or is there no difference from loading everything onto one lead and tucking all of the other leads away for a clean appearance and possibily improved case airflow?

As long as it does not have dual 12v rails, it really shouldnt matter.

It depends on how many devices. If there are no more devices than the original equipment number of connectors on that branch, then you should be OK. But if you are adding a bunch of power Ys etc to accomodate all your devices, then no. The current draw should be spread among the available leads - for the same reason that there is more than one red or orange wire in the ATX connector.
