Any disc golfers here? Someone got a hole in one on a camera drone.

I used to play disc golf in college, usually when I should have been in class.

My town has a free disc golf course in a park across the street from my real golf course and I never use it. Gotta fix that soon, it's a great summer activity to do with a beer in one hand.

I love disc golf, but I basically never play it.

My sister's house in Texas backs up on a park that has a disc golf course, a fairly challenging one due to the natural hazards (some very tight tree alleys and a fair bit of water on some holes).

OSU had one that I played a few times.

I've never actually played in my home town. A quick search doesn't really turn up anything highly rated, I saw some 3.5/5 ratings 20-30 minutes away.

More reasons why I say this city sucks. Thanks, I was just beginning to think there was some potential and up and coming qualities to this place, now you remind me how this place is barren and unfriendly to the modern 20-30 age bracket. 🙁

there's a course in the CC i live in, i've played a few times!

it's SO FUNNNN!!! (with a joint or 4)

and way harder than it looks! you can really whip that disc far if you get the motion/release down after several horrible failures.

disc golfer here. Been doing it for the past 4 years or so. Go at least a few times a year. PA mostly Moraine, Tyler, East stroud, are all good and I have fun any time I'm there. Have gotten to where I don't usually shame myself any more.

Indeed. Been many years since I played, and I used to play quite regularly when in college--sometimes 2 or 3 rounds per day, traveling to various courses in the area.

The one here in Berkeley is absolutely dreadful, so I never had any incentive to play more than the ~1/2 round that I once played here.

so there just happened to be 2 cameramen and a drone outfitted with a camera?

LoL it's tournament play, the group that runs the channel follow the lead cards and film them if you check out their other videos.

I've been playing on and off for almost 10 years and still really bad compared to these guys. LoL

That sounds kind of awesome.

I was thinking it was supposed to just be some random guys in the park.

Nice!

I feel like wind would really take the skill out of disc golf since it is probably the biggest accuracy factor.

hm...

I played stoner fetch a few times.

The best parts about Disc golf is free, every "play area" is different and you can leisurely walk through and stay in shape. But the BEST part is that it's free and you usually don't have to deal with lot's of people.

hm, 4 disc golf places near me. seems like a fairly economical activity.
I dunno...you do burn up a lot more of stuff in some of the longer courses...

Like ball golf there are different discs for different situations like downhill's, wind, calm, narrow, curvy etc...
