Any DirecTV people

Simple question for anyone who has it, or anyone who installs it for a living.

Can an installer come to your house to see if you can actually receive the signal BEFORE you purchase the equipment?

If you have a clear view of the southern sky, you will get a signal.

do you have a compass? there are pretty cheap, that's all you need.

Well, I have trees. I'm not sure at which angle the dish would come down at, so i don't know if the signal would "shoot over" the trees.

Don't know about DirecTV. I had DishNetwork first, and I know the person I set up the account with explicitly said that if they could not install it where I could get a signal I would get a refund. When I had DirecTV installed, I didn't even bother asking since I already knew they could install it.

You can always check a DirecTV self-installation website and check for yourself.

That said, they'll do everything they can to put the dish in a position where you can get a strong signal. My sister's property is pretty much filled with trees and they found a good spot for her dish so that she can get a good signal.

The directv people will figure out a way to get a signal...they'll attach it to a long pole and mount it on your roof, they will try different areas of your property, so i havent heard of any instances where they couldnt get a signal. But if in a small circumstance they couldnt get a singal i would think i big company such as directv would not charge anything.

Anyway, back on topic, Yes, call your local company and they should be more than happy to come and check it out for ya, order right through them (they make a bit more) and they probably will treat ya a bit better too😀
