I think the Nikon Coolpix 990 and some other high-end digital cameras can do full-res burst captures, but it comes at a price (the 990 is about $850). The issue is the size of the camera's buffer, in which raw pictures are processed/compressed before they are stored to the removable media. Most digital cameras have small buffers, so they can only take a few pictures in a row before you have to wait 10+ seconds for the pictures to be written to the storage. Some cameras might offer extended (1+ minutes) of 30fps MPEG movies, but they are usually taken at 320x240 resolution.
