2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz, 2 DIMM [Included in Price]
2GB Single Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz, 1 DIMM [subtract $10]

looks like the cheaper one is better?

two sticks of 1GB, or one stick of 2GB?

the 2x1GB is in dual channel mode. double memory bandwidth.

My guess is that which is better would depend on the set-up. CPUs with 800MHz fsb probably don't benefit from ddr2-800 in dual channel, since they're already 1:1.

1066MHz FSB

i'd probably buy another 2gb 1 stick.

just wanted to no if the memory is the same.

ah yes, i forgot to mention going with the 2GB stick and buying another 2GB stick for 4GB total. That's what I would do.

4GB+ FTW!!! DDR2 ram is so cheap right now, im going to upgrade to 8GB soon cause i keep seeing the same ram i have installed on sale for under $45, no reason not to load up all the slots 🙂

is dual channel just the result of having two sticks of ram?

or is it physically different chip?

I mean if I buy 2GB Single Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz, 1 DIMM
and then go guy 2gb of ddr2 1 dimm online and pop it in, is it now dual channel?
