I have the black FOP32.....not sure if it's suitable for t-birds or durons....
I've heard that Globalwin made changes to the design of the FOP32 to make it amd duron, athlon compatible. Now, all FOP32s are silver. How do I know my black FOP32 is amd compatible?

thanks

Hello !! I believe that AMD had 'issues' with anodized hsf's. My 'guess' is that is why Globalwin switched.

anodized aluminium can interfere with the heat exchange. it is a dye that has been "burned" into the metal by a process of dipping it in and out of different types of acids and dye's. i can defintely see why they went back to normal ole' Al.

The non-dyed ones are a bit better, but the most important difference is the clip.

the FOP32's clip is not suitable for SocketA, the FOP32-1's clip is.

I don't know if they made the colour change with the -1 series or not.
