With the 15% deal on desktop memory from Newegg, I've be contemplating buying ram for a Sandy Bridge build in January.
I want 8 GB of RAM and from what I've seen most of the SB processors and motherboards support DDR3 1600. G. Skill sells two different kits that are 2x4GB with the same timings voltages, and price.

My question is, are they exactly the same except for the taller heatspreader on the Ripjaw series? And also does the height of the heat spreader have prevent the installation of a lot of CPU coolers?
I'd like to buy one of these today before the sale ends so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
