Any difference between ASG2 and ASG3?

I have Arctic Silver II... do you guys think ASG3 will make at least 1 degree of difference on a 60watt CPU?

I answered my own question:

Benchmark

The answer is YES. 1.3 degrees Celsius better, and this is with a high-speed fan. With a low-speed fan, the difference is probably greater!

and that's 1.5C socket-thermistor. Knowing the internal diode results that we now know, that means the difference was greater, but how much greater is unknown. ;)

Mike, it's great to hear from you. By the way, interesting news on P4 temp readings from the other Mike of SilentPCReview:

"Another pertinent issue is the actual physical location of the thermal diode in the die. On the P4, it is located in one corner; the hottest portion is slightly past center over on the other side, and the temp difference betw. these 2 points, I was told, can be as much as 20C!!"

So even the P4 thermal diode isn't very accurate! I imagine now just how bad socket thermistors must be :)

yeah, i've heard that about the Intel int. diode :)(). But at least its an internal temp.

and who knows if the same isn't true for athlon XP int. diodes... but again, at least it would be an internal diode.

The important thing beign everyone measureing from the same place ;)
