any desktop appliances to keep a glass/bottle cold?

WoW is down and I'm bored 😛

I was wondering, are there any small appliances that work kind of as the opposite of a hot plate? I guess like a really tiny fridge. haha.

I hate I bring a can of soda from the fridge, drink it while at the computer, but find that it's gotten warm really quickly; don't want to go down the ice route because watered-down soda = gross

I bet there's an obvious answer to this that will make me feel stupid 😀

Yeah actually there is some sort of appliance that is made to keep sodas cold and its pretty small. My boss has it on his desk and uses it all the time. I will pm you tommorow when I get to work and ask him what it is

I have a beer mug that has water inside the walls of the mug. Put it in the freezer. It will ice up a chilled beer. Cheap too.

you could get one of those foam things people put around their beer cups
you could get some of those freezer glasses with the liquid in them and freeze them

or set your desk in the backyard, jersey should be cooling nicely in the next few weeks.

you could also try one of those mugs that have a layer of liquid in the wall. you keep the mug in the freezer so that liquid layer is fronzen and when you put your drink in it, that layer keeps the stuff inside cool.

i had one of those, it worked pretty well but then it broke 🙁

Your freezer must be unusually cold or something

Here you go, you want something like this. Unfortunantly I dont think you can get it direct from the brookstone site anymore

Read the review on this though:

Be VERY carefull with this product. I've had two and the first one burned (I happened to be in the room and un plugged it). The transformer on the second measures > 150F when running. I will be returning this product to Brookstone. I've notified them of a problem in the product and it has been "directed to the appropriate department".
