I'm trying to create the right default avatar to use on my website. This default avatar will be associated with each user. I'm trying to do something cool with this image. Since my website starts with a "M", I was trying to color out some boxes using white shading but it doesn't look good. Any designers who can create something with this?

Here's the default avatar

LOL at "designers".

I'm a "designer", but not the kind you need :D.

I'm not sure what you're asking for.

I'm a semi-skilled amateur 'photoshopper.' But I need something more specific than 'color in some boxes.'

I'm just trying to find the right default avatar and I have no specific requirements. If you can't think of anything, can you make it display M?

The colors got washed out for some reason. I did that in Gimp. I can fix the colors if you want. Your original is on the left, my modified with M is on the right. Also I can use a different font.

I don't like that font style very much but can you post up the washed up color blank version?

Blank on the right. How about the font on the left?

Just take mine and tweak the color balance (and brightness/contrast if needed) and then isn't that prettymuch what he asked for?

I was just preserving the original colors 'cause I thought it was supposed to match the background of the provided image.

I think you were supposed to. There is something up with gimp in that it modifies the image when you save it even though I have the original colors on screen when I am modifying the image in gimp. It attaches a color profile which is messing up the colors. It's a common problem in gimp. I can't seem to find a solution for it though.
