Any day now, there will be a TV show that you can call in..

I wouldn't be surprised if the next breed of TV series will allow the audience to call in and make the show decisions. Will Joey end up with Phoebe? Will Ned find a new wife? Call in during commercial break and find out after. Then, in a few years, actors will have to wear bluescreen shirts. That way the editors will be able to paste on an ad for a company and make it look like part of the shirt. Well, you heard it first here.

I swear there have already been shows in which an ending was dictated by people calling in, although it wasn't done on-the-fly. I imagine we now have the technology to easily do so, but it would require either a live broadcast, or filming the extra footage in advance, which would cost more, especially for big-ticket actors like the cast of Friends

Didn't Intel do something like this once. You got to vote online how the ending of the show turned out... or was it a commercial. I don't remember which, but I do remember Intel asking people to vote online.
