Any d7000 owners? Upgrade my d90??

Should I upgrade my d90 to a d7000??

My brother is looking at cameras and I could sell him my d90 for $600 and add another $600 and walk away with a d7000.

Thoughts?

Seems like an amazing camera for sure.

Meh, it depends. One generation jump isn't that grand. Is the D90 your only body?

I'd keep saving and make the jump to a D700, the D7000 has too many pixels(for DX) for my taste and requires steady hands and quality glass to benefit from the extra resolution. The D700's large pixels would be such a treat and so forgiving.

I would absolutely do that upgrade for $600. (Currently sitting with a D70s, and really wanting a D7000 myself. 🙂)

And dismissing that as a one generation jump feels a little unfair to me, given the features and performance involved.

I upgraded from a d80, and its a WORLD of difference.

If you shoot with any old AIS lenses, the upgrade seems worth it for sure.

i've been considering this as well, but i decided to hold out a couple years more for more full-frame options from nikon

Just upgraded from D200 to D700. I'm thoroughly sick of the megapixel wars and believe that the D7000, although it is a great camera, is pushing it in that department (as one poster has already stated, needs excellent glass and technique to get the best out of it, not to mention that you can't go beyond F/8 without diffraction setting in).

I like my large pixels and great high ISO performance. Next purchase will be... a second D700 body.

Any ideas what I should do with the D200? I'm thinking infrared conversion.
