Any Corsair H60 + AMD users here?

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting an H60 for a Phenom II, because the RAM slots are extremely close to the CPU socket and just about any air cooler will limit my choice of RAM. Anybody use one for AMD processors? Is the mounting mechanism sturdy and reliable? how about cooling performance?

Doesn't matter if the ram slots are close. It'll fit

I know that the H60 will fit. I meant that a regular heatpipe air cooler would cover a RAM slot. That is the reason I want an H60.

I'm running the antec 620 on an amd system. Works just fine.
I also am running the hyper 212+ on 2 matx machines. You can slide the fan up a bit which helps with ram clearance. Ripjaws ram in those machines.
So, if you want air, the hyper 212+ will work unless you have some crazy high ram or your case isn't wide enough.

Make sure the radiator will fit in your case (radiator is a bit wider than a 120mm fan). I was unable to use the kuhler 620 in a coolermaster elite 371 case. It just wouldn't fit in any of the fan locations.

Oh, and the kuhler 620 is $55 at amazon. Not sure what price you are looking at for the h60. From the reviews I've read, the 620 did better than the h60.

Just pick one set of ram that doesn't have fancy fins. Then, you can use a cheaper conventional heatsink instead, and heck, the ram will probably be a bit cheaper too.

Good to know. I didn't see you mention this in DC, but I must have missed it. 🙂 I was considering getting another Elite, 2500k bundle and the $50 Antec 620 at MC 😛 You just saved me some trouble. I wonder if it will work in that $34 case reviewed here? I noticed MC had it for $37 in black...

I can vouch for the Hyper 212+ as well. I think this is a bonus - you can mount it to blow up in an AMD config. This seems to help (maybe, will have to check...) with ram clearance and now that many cases have top vents you can point that guy right up at some 12 CM fans and have that hot air go right where it wants to...

The kuhler 620 works just fine in the NZXT 210 case reviewed here. I picked one up from amazon when NE was having the promotion (same price and prime shipping made more sense).
I have the 620 in the NZXT case. radiator is on the back fan location. Didn't want to fit too well on the top fan locations because of my mobo. Wasn't really in the mood to mess with it since it fit just fine on the back location.

The mounting mechanism is super easy and solid. It uses the stock AMD anchor points.

Hydro Series AMD Mounting Guide

Performance is very good with the stock single fan and you can always add a 2nd fan if needed. There are plenty of reviews out there to check for performance comparisons.
