I love the iPhone, but I hate AT&T. I don't really care about touch sensitivity, but i do like have lots of easy to use software/hardware. The Voyager was/is a flop IMO. So what else is there to look forward to?

TIA!

Hack an iPhone & use tMobile, its what all the cool kids are doing ;)

Grab the best deal for a cool phone/plan from tMobile, hock it on eBay to pay for the iPhone.

They're giving away Blackberry's and Dash's at the moment... You can get a Curve for $50 AR.

The Glyde is pretty neat and it's showing up on Verizon now.

Or, as others said, unlock an iPhone and use it on T-Mobile. The whole unlock is easy and takes less than two minutes, including downloading the software and taking the iPhone out of the box. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSiKvTOJsbU

I have 2 Curves sitting next to me, waiting for the unlock codes from tMobile, honestly, they feel sort of cheap to me after using a Dash/HTC Excalibur. Tried to get my daughter to use one, she used it for a 1/2 hour & went back to her beat to death Dash.

I see no difference with build quality between these two. (Ex has a Dash)

BB's are one of those devices that take a couple of days to realize how slick they can be. There already a boatload of ex iphone owners that now own the curve.

do you need a data plan to use the Curve on Verizon? Like, one of those $30/45 unlimited data plans? I'm realizing I might like the features of a smartphone, but not if it requires such an expensive data plan on top of the voice plan.
I'm liking the $15/month unlimited data/Vcast pack for my Glyde. If I could get buy on a similar fee for the Curve... I might be tempted. Still haven't help on in my hands, so I'm not sure. I kind of liked the Pearl, but hated the quasi-QWERTY keyboard (2 letters per key.. ack).

Yes. Email uses data through the BIS (Blackberry Internet Service). You can manage up to 10 POP/Email accts.
--edit--and the BB data plan is 30 a month for unlimited.

I just got it. After a LONG line of phones including the iphone and 2 previous blackberrys, I love the 8330 so far.

I have Verizon and am quite pleased with the BlackBerry Pearl. The phone does everything I need it to do, but I dislike the fact that Verizon has disabled the GPS function. Their GPS service does not work for me as I live in their Extended Network service.

I'm just kinda bummed with the trend to move away from clamshell designs. I tend to forget to lock my phones and i used to call people all the time from my pocket. Oh well :D

Anyone have any input on how sprint/tmobile stack up to verizon in terms of call quality/coverage? I had cingular for 5 years and hated that my friends with verizon got better coverage everywhere we went (from Sracramento to LA)

I must say that from what I've seen Verizon has the best coverage and the best call quality. Their network is very good. They have excellent service. Really the only downside to Verizon is they usually rip you off. Most of their plans are more expensive than other providers. They also cripple the phones with their lousy UI.
