Any comprehensive guides out there for recessed lighting?

I'm looking to install some in my home. I can get into the attic and wire from above. Most of the guides I see out there only cover a portion of the installation. Has anyone seen a comprehensive guide where they go from drilling the holes to wiring to junction boxes and wiring to existing light switch?

pretty simple stuff.... I could help you through it. every existing install is a bit different so i would caution on some step by step internet thing.

acquire fixtures:
flip ins are super easy.

but we usually use remodel cans when there is insulation above. ex:
drill bit like this is what we use:

run 14-2 if you have a 15 amp breaker on that circuit and 12-2 if you have a 20a breaker between all the fixtures you are installing in the room and back to existing fixture box on ceiling, or to new Jbox in attic. all the grounds together, all the whites together. depending on how its wired, you will connect the hots. ( black or red)

I would also add a dimmer to the new lights. It's my firm belief that all direct lighting should be on a dimmer.
