the amd processors are slandered for their crap performance, take the phenoms for example... and the ATI cards are poor in quality and break up quick... my old 9700 pro got busted... my 1900xtx also got busted and now my 3870 is busted... but from nvidia... my 6800 GT was fine until the end.. when i got a new one and give that one to my cousin and the 8800 gtx still there too.. working after a while...

My ATI GPUs and AMD CPUs have been just as reliable as my Nvida and Intel parts.

You got unlucky on the graphic cards, very unlucky, but there is nothing wrong with the cpus from AMD. Phenom II is a great chip and the dual cores are good in their price department, it's just that they lack the overclockability of intel chips.

By the way, what are you doing to those poor cards that they're dieing like that? ;)

I dunno what to say dude... but i think the forums and a lot of places say crap about phenom processors... some of them all naming the new phemon... the new loser...

sorry for the fanbois.. but i have to leave your club and the love to amd.. and ati cards... bad luck... good luck... no matter to me... matters to my bucks and the lack of support also matters to my bucks too...

I am sick of ATI cards.. maybe not from processors... i can still give them a try since they havent fail.... but the cards can so go to HELL!!!!!!

This thread is either an amd flame or a really stupid question as pointed out by toyota. Read some reviews through google and the popular hardware sites, look at the happy little bargraphs, and stop flaming. If the durability of amd's hardware was a problem there would be talk of it on the forums, you didn't just figure something out with your 3 broken cards. You may have figured out how to not operate hardware correctly. Grats.

Well, the GTX 295 is almost like having 2 GTX 285's in SLI, albeit with lower speeds, and not as much memory as the GTX 280 x2. So obviously the 295 is faster, the question is how much. If you can afford the 295, go for it, either that or SLI 260's. Or, if you have a bit more money, SLI the 285's :D

well the gtx295 is just two gtx260 cards with all shaders unlocked so its really much closer to having 2 gtx260 in sli. that being said the gtx295 for a 100 bucks more delivers 50-60% more performance than a gtx285. the gtx285 is very overpriced.

I think he's a kid!

Anyway any video card can break Pelu, My GTX 260 is given me artifacts at stock speed. I took back my CF setup from my brother and he took my GTX 260 and lowered it's clock speed.

Well it's faster than my XFX GTX 260 Black Edition. I used to have problems with them, a lot of blue screens but I got it fix by updating the bios of each cards from HIS! With hotfix 8.12 my setup fly!

If you don't want to CF with two cards then get the SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850 X2 2GB

If you want to CF I would suggest getting two of the following cards for the best ATI partner warranty.
