I'm thinking of getting the Acer 1912B 19" LCD for myself, for a great deal. I realize it doesn't have DVI inputs, but it does have 16mb response time and 3yr. warranty. I"ve seen the monitor at a friends and it looks very nice, but he didn't have any games on his pc to test it with.

Anyone here that has it care to comment on game quality? Ghosting, etc. ?

Any advice would be appreciated :)

I also would like to know what owners of this monitor think comparatively. From the reviews I've read so far, it seems like a great deal for the size and response time. No DVI, but for ~ $300.00 one can't be too picky...

Here's some 40 opinions on the monitor in question. Seems most folks like it, but...

Hmmm... well I'd rather go for quality then size. 140degree viewing angle and no DVI bothers me.

At $300 bucks, I'd rather get a top-notch, low response time, DVI-equiped 17" LCD... either that, or shell out some extra greenbacks and get a good 19" LCD with low response and DVI-equiped.

The monitor is what you look at every moment you spend on your computer... why would you "settle" on a lower quality monitor? Either get a top-notch 17" for that price, or spend a few extra bucks and get a better 19" LCD.

My 2-cents (for what it's worth)

I agree with wolfshanze. I was looking at this very monitory earlier, because I wanted an LCD to replace my massive CRT, and it was cheap. But lack of DVI is a killer for me, as my video card has dual dvi outputs. VGA wouldn't be so much an issue as I'm still using a kvm right now(which has no dvi), but I'm looking towards the future, and the future is DVI.

And when you are looking for a dvi LCD, make sure it has DVI cables with it! Friend just got a viewsonic vx910 and it has digital written all over it, even a dvi logo, but only comes with vga cable. $80 for the dvi cable :/
