Hi,
I'm planing to assemble a new computer and would like some comments on the configuration.

Case: Antec Plus 1080AMG 430W True Power
Case fan (two others already installed in the case): Papst 8412NGML 80x80x25 26.5cfm 2050rpm
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2700+ (T-bred, 333MHz buss)´
CPU Cooler: Spire FalconRock II 25dBA
Motherboard: ASUS A7N8X Deluxe/GD
Memory: 1 GB PC 2700 DDR RAM (2x512 mb) (either TwinMOS-Winbond 512Mb DDR-DIMM PC3200 CAS 2.5 or Corsair CMX512-2700C2 XMS2700, would like comment on that)
HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax Plus9 6Y120P0 120Gb 7200rpm Special Edition
Graphic Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Screen: Samsung 959NF 19" Diamondtron
CD Drive: LITE-ON LTD163 DVD-ROM 16X DVD/48X CD

Misc:
Standard floppy drive
Standard keyboard/mouse

I won't list exact prices (since I live in Sweden, geting sugiestions where to find parts cheaper might be a bit hard) but the overall price of the system is about 2000 american dolors. I'm wondering a bit about the memory, I'm not intrested in overklocking (althought if I chose the twinmos I'd like to run it at CAS 2 at 333 MHz if posible) but I do want a rock stable rig so I want quality ram. The Corsair is much more expensive thought. If I do go with the Corsair I might as well get thier TWINX1024-2700LL, it's only about a 10 bucks diffrence. So what do you think I should go with?
Also, the Radon 9700, while I'll wait untill the new card to get out so the price gets lower as it is now the Pro version is about 100 bucks more, is it worth that much or should I just go with the non pro?

Thanks

i guess money is no problem to you... get a nice projector instead of the monitor.... unless you need it, go for a cheaper processor and save a hundred....then buy a fasterone in 6 months for that $100 that you saved now

Well geez, if you list components that are at the top of the heap there really isn't a whole lot to critique. Anything anyone could suggest would be based purely on indivudal preferance rather than any real hard data.

Well, I was more like wondering if any of these components would perform badly with the other. Even top of the line components can sometimes behave badly if the wrong combination is made.
I hope I'll be able to get the twinx, I actuly am limited on money (althought the limit is rather high, 2000 US dolars) so if the memory price goes up I won't be able to get it. Same applyes to the projector, although I wouldn't really want one to begin with, much rather sit infront of a screen.

Thanks

Looks like a great system, and seeing how it's somewhat similar to mine I give it a thumbs up! :)

Btw, if you're spending that much I'd definitely go with the 9700 Pro. I did, and haven't looked back since.
