I have an Asus A7N8X and they screwed up my sound. Now when the machine boots the sound comes on really loud even though the volume control shows it's down all the way. I was told the latest (3.13) would help reduce CPU temps. I don't see any difference in may Barton 2500 which is overclocked to 3200.

Wow, I guess nobody else uses an nForce2 chipset with the latest drivers... surprising!

I'm using it and no problems in my A7N8X Deluxe 2.0. Only that sound bug fron time to time, but nothing serious. Temps remain the same, maybe a bit more stable but nothing else.

Using v3.13 on my A7N8X-DX Rev2 and Windows XP and it fixed all my sound bugs. Haven't had other problems...

i had the new ones, fixed my DVD audio problems which would garble up every few minutes and the only way to fix it was to pause and play the video. however, any windows desktop icons that i changed or renamed would get set back to their default upon restart. i hated that

I installed them this past weekend and noticed that I had to reinstall my video drivers. At any rate, I am now running them and the latest Catalyst drivers. So far, so good... I have not noticed any performance increase/decrease. Everything seems to be the same.

I only had one problem with the new driver package. I didn't like the ethernet drivers. They actually placed load on the CPU and chewed up system bandwidth even when not using the network connection actively. So I uninstalled those newer eth drivers and installed the ones from the 2.45 UDPs. Problem solved.

Also, Abit released a newer set of audio drivers when they put out drivers for the AN7, they are rev. 3.75. I have installed them on my NF7-S Rev. 2.0 and they work great. The only difficulty is that you will probably have to install the control panel manually (right click on .inf file and select "install").

As a result, I have created my own UDP remix that included the older eth driver and the newer audio drivers. I'm all set for a while.

I don't use the on-board Ethernet adapter simply due to the fact that I got tired of manually adding the driver into Linux. Maybe I'll look at it again in the future, but for the time being, I am using a well-supported Intel PCI card.

Well, you asked about WinXP in your opening post... You didn't mention Linux at all.

Yes, I did... I was just saying that I don't use the on-board adapter because of Linux issues. Information about the nForce2 driver package as a whole is of interest to me. Please don't get your back up just because I said I don't use that driver. I appreciate all of the info I am getting.

I'm not miffed at all, I know where you're coming from. As it so happened, I had to throw in my 3Com NIC when I installed MDK9.2 as I was not smart enough to be able to get the NF2 eth adapter to work.

Sorry to cause confusion.
