I've built several 2600K 5.0 Ghz rigs with Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz (9-9-9-24) and 1866Mhz (9-10-9-27) 4GB sticks.

None of the kits in 16GB or 8GB configuration had any effect on the overclocking of the processor, that I could see.

***5 GHz Jealousy***

:)

Well it helped to cherry pick from a batch.

I don't mean to make it sound like it was easy, every 2600K did not go that high. I bought a batch for builds, and several people did not care about high clocks, so I tested them all and two of them were nice ones and ended up in my own rigs. :whiste:

I can't get the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 to come up with frequency manually set to 16.0 multiplier for the memory with all 4 sticks in. I can run/boot it with 2 sticks in either of the 2 sets (2 closest to CPU or mobo edge). I ran memtest on 2 installed to mobo edge for 6 passes @ 1333 stock settings (same even after loading optimized BIOS settings (and changing controllers back to ACHI for the SATA ports)). BIOS shows 9-9-9-24 for timings and 1.5volts. I bumped back to 16.0 and may run memtest again on one pair then other for a few hours again. Any ideas why this isn't coming up with all 4 installed (it just resets, no beeps, just powers up for a few secs and then resets and does this till I turn it off).
