Any coin junkies around here?

I just got a small box of old coins from my Grandfather who has basically dispersed a lot of stuff he owns now that my grandparents are moving into a retirement community. Some cool 1794 one penny piece, a gold 1814 louisxvIII piece, and this indistinguishable old coin that is very crude and makes me assume it is ridiculously old.
Should I be meddling with these or just leaving them in a box in the closest so as to avoid having them get taken/F'ed up by human hands?

unless they are uncirculated there should be no problem handling them. I am too tired to dig, but the 1794 comes to mind as a coin that is often counterfeit.

If not, makes you wonder who might have held that coin. GW maybe....

Interesting. My grandfather was not one to collect coins only to hoard things his relatives passed down to him for posterity, so unless it was counterfeited before the great depression my guess is that it's leigt. 🙂

Amol-Warn me before lengthy readings about a subject that isn't worth my two cents 😉
