Any CoD 4 players looking for HC Tactical play style?

Just wondering if any of you like playing tactically. This clan im in runs a hardcore server with tactical style rules.

Rules are simple: Do not run unless running for nearest cover or while under fire to the nearest cover. No bunny hopping or jumping down from hights that would normally break your legs in real life either. Basically we strive for as much realisim as you can possibly get with CoD 4.

This style of play creates the environment that promotes tactical stealthy style play. You use tactics to get around the map and stealthy tactics to sneek up on your enemy and eliminate them.

To me this style of play is a whole lot better than sprinting around the map firing at random, bunny hopping and all other kinds of nonsense.

If tactical play is your cup of tea check out the server of the clan that i belong to: 75.126.47.242

This is by no means a recruiting post i just figured i would share with my fellow AT community members this server since you hardly find a place that promotes tactical style of play.

Hope to see some of you on. I play by the name of [5307th]Scooba

The bulk of the users are on the server from around 5pm EST to 3am EST.

Maybe its different in COD4, I stopped buying 'em because they got rid of Base Assault starting in COD2, but I still play COD:UO and "tactical" play is pretty much a requisite. Not formally or in any enforced way, but if you spend your time out in the open, down you go. I guess the game's just old enough that most people still playing have gotten pretty good, and any "noobs" learn quickly.

Hell, none of the styles of play that you described as "non-tactical" would lead to any advantage in UO, in fact they'd mostly place you at a disadvantage. If I get COD4 any time soon, though, I'll come play :) Sounds like you guys play at a pretty good level of competition, and that's the best way to get better quickly for me.

I never was a fan of the CoD series. I came from a medal of honor spearhead tactical clan...we played with these same rules that the 5307th has on our CoD 4 server. I now cant stop playing CoD 4 because of this tactical style play :)

Hope to see you on :)

I think I might hop on your server when I reinstall. The clan I'm in used to have a CoD4 server, but half the people wanted HC, the other half didn't, so we ended up just canceling it heh.

Well I must say, much easier to be a sniper on your server without people running and zig-zagging constantly lol

Easier to a point. You still have to worry about other snipers looking for you...people sneeking up behind you and knifing you...using smoke to block the sniper view. You would be surpised though how many people do not snipe for that reason. Now for maps like creek thats a good sniping map. It takes some special skill if you are anything other than a sniper to get around the map.

You are right though it is easier than a zig zagging, bunny hopping, running around in circles style play.

Im a spray and pray kind of person as it works well for me. Tactical can be fun a times but I don't seem to rack up the points that way. I like beating 30+ people whenever possible :)
