All of California.

None of the South though, most places there are still in the stone ages.

When I think "tech cities," the last area I think of is the NE.

You need to learn more about companies, OP.

Fort Colins/Longmont/Loveland Colorado areas

The whole area northwest of Denver has tons of tech companies. AMD and Intel both have offices, as do IBM, Agilent, HP, Cablelabs, Ball Aerospace, SA Robotics, Aerospace Corporation, NIST/NTIA/NOAA/NCAR etc.
