I'm looking for a nice hotel that is in a somewhat close proximity to the United Center. I know that is a bit of a stretch considering the location so taking a cab, uber, or the train isn't out of the question but the closer the better because we are from Peoria and not that familiar with the city.
I'm looking at tickets for my wife and I to go see the Timberlake show on 10/5 so I'm thinking why not make a nice trip out of it. Drive up on the 5th spend the day at one of the museums or galleries then head to the show with maybe some drinks afterwards. Wake up on the 6th after sleeping it off then have a nice brunch and then drive home.
I'm thinking $200-225 for the room. Before I hit up hotels.com or similar sites does anyone have a recommendation for a nice wife worthy hotel in that price range?

You're from Peoria? I'm flying out there just about weekly, want to meet up for a dinner date bby?

No but srsly, wouldn't mind catching a few drinks with ya.

Best reccomendation for hotel rates is using the official hotel websites with discount codes. Of course, it's somewhat of a gamble if they actually ask for proof of the company you are applying the discount to.

I'd like to use hotels.com if possible. I have a $100 credit through them that I need to use up.
And yeah we might be able to meet up for drinks before or after the concert lets play it by ear and see.

Give me a zip code of where you're looking to stay near in Chicago... Also what dates? I say that mostly because depending on where you want to stay heavily impacts the cost of the hotel. Personally I preferred staying more towards the River North area, but if you like staying downtown or more in the suburbs, either one can be more of what you are looking for.

Like i said though, I'm in Peoria pretty much every week. Let me know where you at hommie

So I opted to book a room at the Crowne Plaza just off the west loop. Fairly close to the United Center and not to far from downtown if we decide to go to Shedds or the Field before the concert.
I have to say I am REALLY exited to see Justin in concert! The last time I saw him perform was in St. Louis back when he was with NSYNC so this should be a totally different experience.:)

I lived a few minutes outside of Peoria for the better part of a decade. My wife and I liked the Westin off Michigan ave. You catch 55 in Bloomington and it dumps right into Lake Shore Drive. You are only on it for a few miles north to catch the downtown area. It's real close to Soldier Field, Shedd, Navy Pier, ect. The Westin is a nice hotel with some of the best beds and linens in the industry. It's easy walking distance to the Water Tower Place, all of the shopping on Michigan Ave, and great site seeing. It's a lot easier to get in and out of than other hotels further north.

We stayed at the Fairmont once and that was a nightmare trying to figure out. That's where all of the roads have an upper and lower and it we weren't familiar with it. I swear it felt like we were in the movie European Vacation where we circled around that damn hotel 4 times trying to figure out how to get to it. LOOK KID'S - BIG BEN!

There's not great hotel options for the united center. It's best to just get one near things you want to do and just use a cab. That's what we've always done.
