Shattered the glass on my S7E yesterday, its pretty bad, not usable for sure half the glass has already fallen off.

Ive phoned around and everyone wants $400-$450 cdn to replace it. Which is completely and totally ridicules i could renew my contract and get a S9 for half that, issue is i need to wait till dec before i can renew and get another hardware upgrade. But even if i pay the buyout and renew early i could still get a S9 cheaper than that. Not sure what these screen repair places are thinking i cant see anyone actually spending $400 bucks on a S7e at this point in time.

For now i threw my old sim card back in my old Note 4 and am using it. If anyone knows of a cheap source for S7E screens/glass let me know i may take a shot at replacing it myself, i have taken cell phones apart before, but the edge screen seems like it will be a total bitch to replace.

Yeah im coming to the conclusion the edge was a gimmick and im now paying for going with the gimmick over the reg S7, had this not been a edge phone i never would have broke the screen. Live and learn i guess, never going for a edge or curved screen again on a phone.

I've been contemplating if I should try fixing my wife's S6E+ and sell it. It was dropped screen down and suffered numerous spider cracks, probably from the pebbles on the ground. It still worked but the screen died a slow death and now just flashes a garbled mess when the buttons are pushed. It seems replacement screens are still going for $150 and street prices are only $200-230 so I don't know if it's even worth it.

My S8 also has a cracked screen and the lower half experiencing a red color shift too but the screen is still ~$250. I called a shop shortly after the damage and they quoted almost $400. I bought the phone for $550 so it's insane what they're charging for a screen replacement.

i have watched the video on replacing a galaxy s7 edge as i too have the same issue. last night however i dropped it once more and now it has a nice little hole in the screen ;) i dont mind the crack and have another two galaxy s7 edge with out cracks but prefer to use cracked one since wont have to worry about breaking it.

well the whole process is about 20$ it seem. you chip off the glass only scrub off the glue and apply new glue and put new glass spreading the glue underneath.. looks so easy but time consuming. of course i would replace the battery same time since im sure could use fresh one. Just was waiting for it to completely stop working to start playing with chipping off the glass.

If you're talking about the back glass it is easy, especially if the glass is already broken.
Be aware that the battery is glued pretty solidly in there so be gentle when getting it out. You dont want to distort the battery plus the oled screen is unprotected the other side of the battery and its VERY fragile.
