I'm about ready to buy one and been told that there might be a price drop coming up. Anyone know about this? Dead Rising looks awfully fun.

I'd wait almost exactly a month for the PS3 to come out to see what Microsoft offers to compete. You never know, but I doubt there will be a price drop. There will however likely be some nice incentives.

Edit: Don't want to be taken as a PS3 fan. Yech.

no i have been hearing this for 3 months now...there has been a price drop in the uk...so i would, like the poster above said...wait for the ps3 and wii to come out first...deadrising as awsome...but saints row is the best game ...and another thing...if your not going to purchase xbox live every year ,don't buy the 360,half of the games that are good have sh*ty single player, but they have the best online play in the world!!!

MS has said no price drops this year, and with all of the PS3's launch problems they have no reason to change their minds.

There was talk of adding a bundled game at the current price, but they might not do this until after Sony can ship more than 8 units per store to the US.

MS has already said there wont be any price drops. However they never said anything about bundling of games. My bet is starting on Black Friday there will be some pretty sweet bundles.

wait till after the wii and ps3 come out next month. you're sure to find good deals/bundles on 360 stuff. even though there may not be a price drop, black friday will horde a ton of deals.

I hope so, I'm looking forward to playing Dead Rising, but I agreed to myself that I won't get one unless someone buys it for me for my birthday/Christmas or it drops below $200.

Any word on a drop yet? I'm wanting to buy an XBOX 360 but I don't want to buy one and have it drop a hundred dollars. It's been two months or so since the OP.

IIRC toys r us is selling them w/ $100 gift cards on return. Just purchase the system leave the store and come back and purchase some controllers/games w/ the gc.

Also if you have a microcenter near you they have 'em w/ $100 rebates.

Second half of 2007, after the die shrink / redesign.

You already have a price drop on the blast furnace 1.0 version, in the form of discounts (Dell has had it for $350) and in including a bundled game (Amazon, GameStop).

FYI, they finally increased the warranty from 90 days up to a year to match the wii and PS3, so you no longer need to give MS another $30 for an extended warranty.

Yep. I wouldn't bet on a retail price drop until at least after the spring during the dead months of summer. Until then, there are great deals to be had.
