Any chance of getting...

... fixed pitch font capability for lists, stats, and programming posts? Sure would make them easier to read!

I'll go poke around there.. I just figured that it was probably already available as it seem to be available in other forums. I just am not all the well-versed with all the different options available...

Didn't think about that. I know some things available in FT are disabled here.

I think there's something that may be of interest in the next version of Fusetalk, but it just allows someone to append some "code" on the end of a post. I'd really like to see inline code tags, but each time that's suggested, Zuni seems to not understand (or avoid) the question and instead say that said Attach Code feature is available (even in this version of Fusetalk) but they don't have it enabled "because it could be abused". Maybe they'll reconsider when they upgrade, as even the limited code attachment feature would be better than what we have now (nothing). 🙁

Actually zuni understands just fine 🙂 But for the majority of our customers the code feature works just fine 🙂 We don't turn it on here because of all the "children" that would abuse it 🙂

ANy chance it could be turned on in the forums where the kiddies don't play? 😀 Of course, handing out vacations to the first children that abuse it would discourage them from abusing it! I suspect this may be a case where more folks would benefit from it and use it for 'good' than would abuse it.

Abuse it in what sense? As in try to use it to create exploits? A properly written CODE function should invalidate this problem - heck, steal the code right off of Invision or whichever other open-source boards have the feature. 😉

If you mean abuse it by posting text in a CODE block for next to no reason, well that's pretty silly. People could abuse the bold or italic tags, but they don't. Why would a CODE tag be any different?

It makes the forums look more streamlined without it.

I guess I don't understand what you are trying to say.

Some posts would be more readable in a fixed font layout. For examples, columns of data could be more easily aligned. The current kludge for that is a bunch of periods or something to space out data, and that only works marginally. Clearly that causes more data to be passed from the server than allowing data to be presented in a fixed pitch font...
