Ok, here is the story, plz read the transcript from the online support from Crucial.
And it starts from the BOTTOM

<<
Jack> bye
Jack> ok, thanks for the help.
Conrad> Might have been mis labled. If the label is showing 256mb and it
is registering that your ok. I can see your confusion.
Jack> I was thinking to contact the retailer, but since I bought this
module off another person, and I don't have the reciept. I thought I might
as well contact the manufacture. I thought Crucial offers direct service
for customers?
Jack> the sticker says
"DDR 266 256MB"
But the serial number on the other side is the number that I give you.
That is why like I said, confused.
Conrad> the number you gave me is a part number.
Jack> but even the sticker on the modeul says it's a 256mb, but the serial
number on the crucial's site shows up as 512MB. that's the part that I am
confused...
Conrad> You will need to call our Technical Support dept at 1-800-336-8896
to get that resolved.
Conrad> It could be a system issue. You will need to contact the following
number:
Jack> I mean the sticker on the memory module is still there as well the
box from Crucial.
Jack> I bought this stick from a person off a Internet Forum, and he
bought it off an online store. However, everything is still intact. So
since you said that it is a 512MB stick, where can I get the exchange?
Conrad> yes
Jack> so, it should be a 512 stick?

Conrad> That is a 512 mb module.
Jack> But when I did a search on the serial number on the site, only
CT6464Z265 came up, and it shows up as a 512MB stick... So I am just
wondering that should my stick really be a 512MB stick rather than a
256MB?
Jack> Hello, I bought a 256MB of DDR stick from Crucial, and the serial
number on it is CT6464Z265.16T.

Conrad> Hello Jack. How can I help you?
>>

I'm a little confused...Do you want a 512Mb stick or a 256Mb stick?

Does this show up in your BIOS and Windows as 512Mb?

If so, what's the problem? Does it bother you that the sticker says "256Mb"? Pull the sticker off.

Does it show in your BIOS/Windows as 256Mb?

If so, then maybe you an get it exchanged becuase the part number claims it's 512Mb.
