Any chance for a PDA forum?

Given the proliferation of PDAs and the fact that the newest ones have as much processing power as a laptop from just a few years ago, it would be nice to have a forum dedicated to just PDAs as they don't seem to fall into the Small Form Factor, Notebook & other Prebuilt/Barebones PC forum. There people could discuss the pros and cons of the various models as well as help users find ROM updates, software fixes, hardware fixes, exchange information about upcoming models, etc...

Just a thought.

Couldn't access your subscriber links, but I did do a search before posting. I gather that this question has been asked before and been denied. Seems odd that there is an "AnandTech Mobile" AvantGo format for PDAs, yet no forums for them. I mean, they are computers in their own right. I gather that some of them can even run Linux now.

And iirc, I thought Zuni pulled the WAP version of the Forums since no one used it?

There'd have to be a very large active user base for PDAs in order for them to implement it. I don't think that there's enough demand to justify them implementing it, however. I mean, as it is, the Small Form Factor forum which kind of includes PDAs doesn't have a whole lot of PDA posts. If that forum alone doesn't have demand, how would one justify an entirely seperate category?

It isn't really obvious that the Small Form Factor, Notebooks & other Pre-Built/Barebones PCs forums includes PDAs, so a lot of PDA posts are probably made to other areas instead. Even including those, though, I doubt that there are enough PDA related posts here to warrant a completely seperate forum.

Ah. I see now the Mods are pretty definite on the "No PDA forums" answer for now. I suspect that the subject will warrant rethinking at some future time however as PDAs become more and more powerful and their use becomes more widespread.
