Any cases that look like a reciever?

Just got a plasma. Want to build a SFF PC. I also like one that looks like a reciever that I can slap a big HD into so that I can use it as a DVR. Anyone have any input on something like that?

BTW, what kind of processor and video card am I looking at to be able to deal with HD video recording and playback?

heres my current setup where I want to put the PC.

Thanks 🙂 I'll have to take a look at the MSI.

Thermaltake makes a nice case called the "Bach" I think. I posted a thread about it a while back in cases and cooling.

I'm mostly with mike, except it's purely a price thing with me. My case right now is just a black tower at the very bottom of my AV rack.

I like the Bach, but I've been waiting on the new Mozart or the Antec Fusion, whichever one I can find for sale first.

Be carefull stuffing a PC in a wall like that though, you'll probably need better ventilation depending on what parts you are running.

Proper fans in a decent case and the location can be forgiven for a lot problems. What you need to be mindfull of is how the fans direct the overall airflow, it needs to be through, not recirculated within the cabinet type thing. I might be more concerned that the increased air flow may really raise the dust level.

Whats the back side of the finished install look like?

Instead of a $300 case I would just sit the PC on the floor with maybe an external DVD drive in the rack.

My rig is a bit more complex with a typical 6'x6' 3 column with 3x fixed shelves each wall unit literally full of "stuff" with a bazillion wires in the back, and a few bundles of wires snaking across the floor.
