Any car radios with USB yet?

Seems like a natural progression, a car radio with USB port to plug a pendrive into. MP3/CD decks have been around for years now, and this probably already been done making me behind the times again...

Don't mean a 1/8" stereo analog input, though IMO those should be standard.

What'd really be sweet would be a car radio with USB, plug in a pendrive, play mp3s. Or record what you're listening to while driving, or even better yet, records your favorite 1-2pm show for you to listen to on your drive home at 5. Built in memory would be probably better there than putting all those cycles on flash I suppose...Ok, now I'm dreaming.

Not if the RIAA can stop it...
That would be cool though, if they're not out, why don't you design one and become a billionare?

I know a group of 4 guys at my school are working on that exact thing for senior project. I can let you know how it turns out in Feb. I'm interested to see how they do

The MEX-1HD by Sony has a USB port on the front, built in HDD, and memory stick slot. However the USB can only be used for the Network walkman, whatever that is. It is kinda annoying because there is so much potential but they had to neuter it right out the door. And at about a grand there isn't much of an underground so nobody is really working on hacking it.

Wouldn't see how the RIAA would have any -more- problem with a deck including this than they already do with a current MP3/CD deck having a USB port if the deck only read off the external media and didn't write to it. That'd be very handy, the recording ability isn't something I expect to see because of legal issues.

I just like to think up things, don't have the background to design or market such things. We can all daydream though.
