Any can't miss restaurants in Cincinnati?

I will be in Cincinnati from Monday to Thursday on business and I am wondering if anybody has any good suggestions for places to eat. Price of the meal is not a concern. I would rather focus on quality. I will have a rental car so anywhere within a reasonable drive would be fine. Thanks.

Last I knew Cincinnati had a 5-star restaurant called the Maisonette, IIRC. It's somewhere in the downtown area. It may be reservation only.

Montogomery Inn on the riverfront is famous for its tasty ribs. I'm not sure what else they have as I haven't been there recently and generally just get the ribs.

My low rent favorite places to eat are LaRosa's, for their custom built calzones, and this one Chinese restaurant on Colerain Ave. just south of the Ronald Reagan Hwy overpass ... called China Chef. I usually get my food to go and order the fried wontons, pork fried rice, and Empress or sweet&sour chicken. You get a lot of food for your money.

Are there any authentic Chinese restaurants around Cinci/Hamilton? Like the kind you'd find in a Chinatown?

While we're at it, what are some good places to eat on a budget?

LaRosa's is ok, but it's also a chain. I've been to one and I thought it was just ok, but different people have different tastes.

Maisonette is closed. There is another French eatery downtown however.

Montgomery Inn has pretty good ribs.

There is no 'Chinatown'-type area in or even near Cincinnati. We don't trust anything 'non-American'. There are, however, some good sushi places in the Northern Kentucky area that serve visitors for the Toyota factory.

Someone will recommend Skyline Chili. While I like it, it may be an aquired regional taste.

Personally I am saving my stomach and pennies for Amor de Brazil. They bring a lot of grilled items to your table in a endless display of gluttony. It is a few miles north of they city here in lovely yet boring Mason.

Here is a link to a dining directory.

Montgomery Inn for the ribs (either on the river or the one in Montgomery).
LaRosas for pizza. Graeters for ice cream.

Oh, and Skyline.

You could always drive down to Lexington and visit :). I work with a guy from Cincy, I'll ask him tomorrow if I think of it, and post it here incase you're back to this thread while on your trip.
