Any Canon A40/A60/A70 owners out there, quick LCD question.

My A70's LCD is edge to edge on the top, right, and left side....most I have seen locally have a border around the whole LCD.

My LCD only has a 1/8" one on the left side of the screen sort of is a little larger at the top. Pics appear accurate though.

Canon said it's normal to have a larger left than right border (he said his A60 and A70 appeared to have 1/8" on the left and 1/16" on the right with no border's top and bottom).

I bought from Officemax.com.

Can anyone let me know what the border around their lcd looks like? I am having trouble finding A60's and A70's locally to compare.

My A40 has a slight border on the left and right, none on top and just a hint of a border on the bottom.

My A70 has no border on top, a very thin one on the right, a slightly thicker one on the left, and the thickest border on the bottom. None of them are anywhere near 1/8 of an inch. I measured the bottom one at 0.030" with my calipers.

Same here, I thought that was normal.

Eli and klee58 are A60 owners, they could tell you what their LCD is like.

My A70 doesnt have a border (IIRC), but it does flicker sometimes and I get horizontal lines through it. I am using NiCD batteries, but I dont really remember if it did that with alkaline batteries.


Edit: Nevermind, just got my camera and its not flickering anymore (go figure), but it does have a very slight border on the left, right and bottom.

Yeah I'd say 1/32" is way closer to my left border than 1/16" (no calipers here, I held a clear ruler over it though and the 1/16" mark is more than double the border thickness)....the only thing I was really worried about is the slight taper to the border being a hair thicker at the top.
