I currently live in Canada and when it comes to buying computer/photographic equipments, I always buy it from U.S. It was all good until this situation came up to me.
Everything is pretty much explained in below e-mail that I just sent to BH.
I'm wondering if any members here dealt with similar situation as this.

This Canon 50mm f/1.4 lens that I received has a focusing problem which I find it NOT usable at all.
Thus, I'd like to return it and get it replaced by an another one(Based on previous experiences, sending it to Canon Service Center is not an option), However, as I live in Canada, there're two issues which I'm concerned about:
1. Shipping duration;
For me to ship it back to BH, BH to ship a new one to me, and for me to receive it would take at least more than 2 weeks. I find this duration to be rather too long. Thus, I think I should place an order for a new one and get a refund on the old one.
Now, this leads to a new problem; sales tax.
2. Sales tax
Usually, if I refund a product. I'd get total refund including the sales tax. However, sales tax was issued and collected by Canadian Customs which must mean I won't be able to get that sales tax back. Well, I simply do not want to pay x2 sales tax for one item. For this, I hope BH to send the new order as an replacement or as a fixed item
I'm wondering if what I've thought would work out on your end.
