Canadian fans of the popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy are angry after CTV inadvertently aired the second episode of the season instead of the premiere.
The network blamed the mistake Thursday night on a "satellite feed error" and promised to air the premiere of the third season next week.
But fans waiting for some resolution to last season's cliffhanger ending took to online message boards to denounce the network.
"Can I just say that CTV is a crappy irresponsible network?" wrote one blogger, carmen16.
"I know errors happen, but this is one of the biggest shows on TV these days. (I'm) just not impressed."
"I sure hope someone gets it for this," said a writer named mstudy on the CTV message board. "How disappointing was that to come home from work only to find that the show I taped was aired by the station incorrectly?"
The show ? which includes Golden Globe-winning Canadian actress Sandra Oh in its ensemble cast ? airs on CTV at 8 p.m. ET, while the U.S. version airs at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
ABC aired the correct version.
Premiere next week
Next Thursday, CTV will air the season premiere at 8 p.m., with the second episode following on ABC at 9 p.m.
CTV spokesman Mike Cosentino said the network took its regular feed of the show thinking it was the season premiere.
"We were fed an incorrect show," he said Friday. "We recognize the scope of this situation."
It's the second high-profile error in the last 10 days involving the transmission of a U.S. show to a Canadian television network.
Last week, a satellite feed error caused viewers east of Saskatchewan to miss almost half of the season finale of Rockstar: Supernova.Instead, they saw canned highlights of past episodes.
The blunder left viewers across seven provinces confused in the minutes leading up to Toronto's Lukas Rossi being chosen lead singer of the band featuring Motley Crue's Tommy Lee.
