I recently had a customer bring me a sample of some "hyper caffeinated" coffee called "Shock Coffee". I made a pot of it, and while it was just meh coffee since it was a pre-ground sample pack...similar to food service packaging, it did make me do laps around the office for half the day, and I'm not particularly affected too much by caffeine.

I found their site, and saw they had their coffee in whole bean form, so I decided to order a 5lb bag and give it a try.

They seem to be a fairly new to market outfit...anyone else ever hear of them or try their stuff? It looks like they also have drinks and coffee snacks...

Looks interesting, but my preferred form of caffeine (as a cheap college student) is a bottle of 100 200mg pills for $10. :p

I was drinking 15~18 cups of homeground Starbucks and smoking 1.5 packs of Marlboro lights aday 5 months ago.

I gave both up cold turkey. Dang! It took three months to really get deep sleep again. Enjoy your new addiction :p

I've got my coffee habit down to one cup a day, and even that makes me a little jittery. That Shock Coffee stuff would probably give me a heart attack.

New? lol.

I've been drinking coffee since high school. I also worked 3rd shift for 13 years, and I can drink a mug of coffee and fall asleep a half hour later...

As for addiction, I take month or two breaks from time to time and I don't seem to get any of the common side affects of stopping...

Lately, my boss seems to like booking me on 6am flights, so I thought this would be the perfect thing for those 3am starts to the day....:p

Nice...I am a serious coffee addict. I usually buy a couple bags of Molokai Muleskinner when we're visiting Maui every year. It has that extra "kick" to it as well...

Cool.

I just got back from Coffee People with a large quintuple iced Black Tiger Mocha.

Black Tiger beans have ~30% more caffeine than normal.

I'm not going to rain on his parade or high-jack this thread Perknose:D
No drugs for withdrawal. I just pushed lots of cranberry juice and slept for 5 days.
Day one through three were tough but day four through nine were spent in bed.
I'd eat breakfast, take two brisk laps of our large block, then sleep until lunch.
Eat a small lunch, two more laps, then back in bed.

I got sores and swelling on/of both feet that is just starting to clear-up after five months clean.
Kinda scary at 59 to have messed up feet. Thank god they are recovering.

On the packaging, they claim up to 50% more caffeine...lol.

No, I'm running around the neighborhood with my shirt pulled over my head, and demanding tee pee for my bunghole from whoever I meet...

You do realize that coffee grown for higher caffeine content (robusta) also tastes worse?

If anything I want lower caffeine content in my coffee because I drink so much of it...

ThinkGeek caffeine molecule t-shirt... check
Caffeinated soap tester... check
Caffeinated candy tester... check
Energy drink in the fridge, coffee maker ready 24/7 (or nearly ;))... check

Yeah I have a soft spot for caffeine but I don't buy my coffee based on its caffeine content.

If you REALLY want a caffeine kick, do this:

Make a strong pot of coffee. Really strong.
Wait for it to cool down.
Make another strong pot of coffee, but instead of using water, use the cold coffee.
Repeat ~10x for c-c-c-c-c-c-c-caffeine-a-licious, and ~50x for death.

I've never had Shock Coffee or even Starbucks.
I have developed a taste for Columbian dark roast. I bought some "ground" Costa Rican and Columbian from Leighs Coffee on ebay. The Costa Rican was a little lighter roast than I prefer, but the Columbian was Grade-A.

The cost was a little pricey, so I'm looking for name brand Columbian alteratives.
I even tried some Nescafe 100% Columbian "instant". For "instant" it's not bad at all. It blows away any other instant coffee that I've tried.

My latest coffee adventure is "Kona Joe's Kainaliu Kona. :D
I've got a 1/2lb bag of medium roast ordered. I'll post an evaluation when it arrives. ;)

Happy Cupping! :thumbsup::laugh:

When I was going to school in Great Lakes, IL, they had caffienated water (Water Joe they called it) at a local bookstore. It was interesting to make coffee with the caffienated water... :D
