How do I sign a room that is separated by an accordion type divider?

One room has a occupancy load of 24.
The other has an occupancy load of 36.
When the divider is opened, the entire room has an occupancy load of 60,

Right now, I have a sign in each room:
Room 1:
Occupancy 24
Combined 60

Room 2:
Occupancy 36
Combined 60

Is this OK?

I think as long as each section has it's own exit to the outside and that there are less than 50 people per side you should be safe. But I could be wrong, just an educated guess.

Are you sure it's that simple? It might be higher. I know that around me the occupancy of things like restaurants has to do with not only square footage, but also available seating, location and number of exits, and the number of available restrooms.

The signage required sounds like it would depend on local ordinances.

Actually when considering restrooms -- you need to also consider how many toilets and urinals......
