Any *boat owners here?

My pops is more than likely gonna look to buy one soon before the summer and I was just wondering if anybody owned the mentioned boats above?

What's the purpose of the boat? My dad and I own a Correct Craft Ski Nautique, together. We bought it at an auction in '99, and it's a dream to ski / wakeboard behind.

I've never seen that brand in person but read about a few in classifieds. We sold our boat this past summer so as of now I won't be doing any wakeboarding unless we get one.

I LOVE the crownline's, so does dad but they carry a hefty price tag. Thisis the one we are looking at.

edit- had wrong boat

My Dad has a Mystic Clipper. Its a 28' trawler and used to be a referee boat in regattas. He never uses it though.

I love the power mastercraft's have but they can get up there in price too.
Wonder if we have any Malibu owners?

Sounds nice. It's got all the features you need / want in a ski boat. It's got kind of a shallow draft, so the initial pull won't be as nice as the Nautique, but not many boats are. 😉 Yeah, I'm biased, too.

I have owned several boats over the years . The Glastrons(cv143,cv180 ssv 185) were all good boats, though not as well built as say a Crownline.I'm down to a 21'welded vhull bateau with a 135hp Mariner now.The Glastrons had a good bit of wood in their construction, which leads to rot(floors, transome). The new boats are all plastic I'm sure. The boat I run now will do 55mph with 500lb of shrimp or crabs in it.Most folks wouldnt put a fish n a ski boat much less crabs, catfish or say an alligator or two🙁

The Mastercraft will be a better tow boat for skiing and such since the inboard design helps center the weight and improve the wake, while the central placement of the ski pylon limits the siker's pull on the boat so it tracks better for the driver.

The Glasstron will be a better runabout though and the I/O is a nice convenience for shallow water.

We have a 1996 Bayliner Capri 1950. It is a 19' bowrider. It's nothing super fancy, but it does the job and the price was certainly right. It only had 80 hours on it when we bought it last summer.

zake00 , thats a boat . What most non boaters dont realize is all the stuff floating in the water you might ram into. Like a piling water logged and floating along 2' below the wtaer line.Or trees from flooding.Thats when a stout craft is truely sea worthy.

we go fishing in cook inlet, which is NO playground...its ~40 miles across, and we usually go out about 15 miles to catch trophy halibut. you have no idea how many full sized trees, weeds, etc there are in that water...if you hit one going 40MPH (our boat tops out at about 50 with twin 115HP yamaha strokes) then you are done for. if you survive the impact, then you will freeze to death in the frigid water.
anyway, how about some people that own boats in warm climates? 🙂

Here's a pic of our Sea Ray here in AZ. We sold it last summer when we purchased our home. I bought it for $2100 in pristine condition less a blown drive. Rebuilt the drive in a couple of hours, very simple to do being that's what I do for a living (mecmaster = mercruiser master technician). Kept the boat for a couple years and sold it last summer for $5700.

BTW DP, if you have any questions before buying, LMK.
