any bird watchers out there?

this poor little thing flew into a big window...hard...and was stunned for about 5 minutes before flying off.

I took a few pics of it and was wonder if anyone knew what it was.

We guessed it was a vireo...but I'm not sure.

This was in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

thanks. Yes, after it smacked into the glass, it looked like it was dead...but after a minute it stood up and just sat there for awhile, so I took some closeups.

Then it kind of shook it off and flew away.

WTF...birds fly? never...

well, not penguins or kiwis or emus... and they don't fly so well after smacking their little brains into a window at top speed apparently.

Nice pics. I had a some sort of tit or warbler fly in through the open back door, and try and exit out the front window. he brained himself and landed on the windowsill. My dog Rocky was all excited, looking down on him from the back of the couch, then from the floor up through the houseplants. He really would not hurt a thing though, he was very gentle with that bird. I took him outside and put him on a post. he got his wits together after a while and flew off.
