Hmmm....might want to contact the manufacturer or check their website to see what they spec. I honestly couldn't tell you what size collar you'd need off the top of my head.

My best guess would be that the 35mm will fit. I dug around a bit and it seems that 32mm and 35mm are pretty much the only two choices. I doubt 32 would be big enough given the thickness of the aluminum tubing on the Azonic. Were there other size options for the collar? If it's either 32 or 35 just order both and return the one that doesn't fit. You're out a little shipping, but you'll get the part you need ASAP.

Right. YOU go drop $1400 on a new frame and then swing a hammer at it. ;)

I don't mind spending the $20 to get the shop to do it since I'll have recourse if it gets screwed up. Besides, the fork steerer is carbon so I can't press the lower race onto it without the proper tools anyway.....last thing I'd want to do is ding the steerer tube and have it snap on me a month down the road. That, as they say, would suck.

The scarey thing is that this didn't just pop out of nowhere. I have seen both used on wonderful bikes, or I should say bikes that used to be wonderful. Dont know what these people are called today (at least politely), but back then we called them "hammer mechanics"

I've actually done the hammer method on previous bikes, but the carbon steerer and thin-walled frame make me a little nervous so I'm lettting the shop handle it.

The headset wrenches are many times manufacturer specific & expensive too, are you having them put in the bottom bracket too?

What brand kickstand are you mounting?:p

& have you weighed your handlebar tape yet?

Used to kill me seeing someone 20 lbs overweight agonizing over ounces & grams on their bikes/accessories:D

I have all the other tools to put it together (including the BB tool). This is a threadless headset (Chris King) so no special tools required. :D

I'm actually a pretty competent bike mechanic (I build my own race wheels and such), I just didn't want to run the risk of f*cking up a new frame.

Depends on whether I can talk Merlin into welding me up a kickstand in titanium or not. :p

I'm not a "weight-weenie". I sure as hell wouldn't have bought a steel frame if that were the case. ;)
