Any Benq DW1650 or DW1655 reviews out there?

I'm interested in getting either the DW1650 dvd burner or the DW1655. Are there any reviews out there?

I'd like to know how the DW1650/1655 compare with NEC's ND-3550A

Also, does anyone know if the LED turns red when burning and green when reading?
 
Thanks for the link. It seems like from that review that the DW1655 is a very good drive. Would you agree?
I'm interested in what folks think of the DW1650 as I'm not really into LightScribe and I doubt I'll have use for it.

Also, how do these drives compare to NEC ND-3550A.
 
I've had the DW1650 for about a week now and really like it. I accidentally broke my Liteon DVD-ROM drive and had planned to replace with another DVD-ROM drive since I have a Liteon 8X DVD+/-R drive. But, the deal on the DW1650 from Newegg was too good to pass up.

Excellent read/burn speeds, and is much quieter than the old Liteon DVD-ROM drive. The only thing I don't like about it is the LED remains on when there is a disc in the drive, not just when burning or reading. Otherwise, it seems to be an excellent drive.
 
I love my DW1655...just got it a week ago.

The only thing pissing me off is it doesn't seem to want to burn any of the cheaper media that I have right now (Legacy DVD-Rs...yeah I know they suck) and I don't have any higher quality media available.
