Hi folks, I’m building a new Windows 10 system (from Win 7). I have the below IPS HP great monitor and use Photoshop CS6 and general TV shows/You tube videos. (I DO NOT DO ANY GAMING.) The monitor is color calibrated. Right now I have it connected via DVI cable. It works. But there are ports for HDMI as well as Display port. Is there any advantage to use one of these ports vs. DVI I use now? Would I get any ‘better’ color reproduction or video playback by switching to one of the other cables?

Honestly if things are working fine, continue to use the DVI connector. Otherwise you are going to have to calibrate for the other input as well. You are not going to seen really any advantages either.

For that particular monitor there's no benefit from switching. Displayport has some advantages when it comes to bandwidth and HDCP (watching copy protected movies). At higher resolution and higher color depth, Displayport would be better, but you're fine at 1920x1200 @ 8bit depth.
